Mass General Brigham is committed to world-class care backed by the latest advances in medical research. Innovation across our system delivers the best possible outcomes and enhances the patient experience.

The "proliferation" of initiative petitions this election cycle is "because the level of frustration about inaction at the state level, at the State House, has reached a boiling point," Boston Mayor Michelle Wu told political analyst Jon Keller on Wednesday at an event hosted by MASSterList and the State House News Service

"We need our state legislators, we need our state senators, to help drive us forward, not put up more obstacles for us to overcome," Wu said.

With blatant reminders of her past clashes with the Senate over property tax shift legislation, and a look into her endorsement of primary challengers to two veteran senators this election cycle, Wu talked about the need for "legislative fixes" and dynamics she feels aren't working on Beacon Hill.

This cycle in particular is "urgent," Wu said, "Especially in this moment when the federal administration is attacking Boston, when AI and global forces are changing our economy, and climate change is here, there's so many headwinds coming at us."

"We can't have our own state Legislature also add to the headwinds," Wu continued.
