Patrick Roath for Congress is seeking an energetic and dedicated individual to lead a robust organizing program for a progressive primary challenge. The ideal candidate is committed to creating a positive and inclusive community (both for campaign staff and volunteers), and ready to learn and implement multiple types of organizing strategies. This person should be ready and comfortable working with volunteers online, offline, at in-person events, knocking on doors, and more. Willingness and enthusiasm to talk to and build relationships with volunteers and staff from all backgrounds and walks of life is a requirement for this job. This is a full-time position that starts in January and runs through the 2026 MA State Primary Election at a minimum.
Responsibilities:
- Collect Signatures. The organizing director will develop and execute a 100% volunteer driven plan to collect 2000+ certified signatures for the September Primary ballot.
- Organizing Plan. In combination with the campaign manager, this person will write, update, and deliver on a robust organizing plan to hit ambitious voter contact goals.
- Build a Community. Create, maintain, and grow a large community of volunteers online and offline. The organizing director will also need to interface with and build relationships with local organizations and key regional stakeholders.
- Manage Data. Pull lists, analyze data, and build campaigns in VAN & other tools for organizers and volunteers.
- General Support. Additional campaign duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- At least one cycle of experience with political campaigns, community organizing, or similar.
- Intermediate competency with NGP/VAN & knowledge of digital organizing tools.
- Strong commitment to democratic politics and policies, and enthusiasm for electing a progressive primary challenger.
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, as well as a friendly demeanor even when under pressure.
- Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and especially on weekends.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
- The ideal candidate will be based in or willing to relocate to the 8th District of Massachusetts.
