Position
The Community Liaison will work closely with RVA’s senior staff to conduct near-term community outreach and engagement. This position will be responsible for supporting the community engagement process for a variety of projects. The position includes assisting the planning and staffing of client events, from meetings to conferences.
Responsibilities
- Plan and host meetings and town-halls (in-person and virtual), focus groups, working sessions, field canvassing, door-knocking, and other activities as necessary to support robust community driven outreach and engagement.
- Assist with development, production and packaging of materials used during events, conferences and field canvassing.
- Assist with set up, staffing and break down of events.
- Carry out various administrative tasks, including project databases.
Qualifications
RVA is seeking a Community Liaison with the following qualifications, at minimum:
- Associate’s degree, in a related field.
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe (desired) and Microsoft Office Suite (required), including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. For PowerPoint, ideal candidate must possess skills and ability to develop comprehensive and professional presentations.
- Experience with virtual meeting platforms, such as Zoom.
- Ability to work occasional weekday evenings.
- Fluency in at least one non-English language is a plus.
- Ability (or willingness to learn) to make electronic documents web accessible.
- Self-starter, able to work independently, with minimal supervision, and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel to various locations around the state for meetings/events.
- Highly collaborative style.
- Commitment to high quality work products.
- Ability to follow projects through from concept to completion.
