FamilyAid is Greater Boston’s leading provider of solutions to family homelessness. Its mission is to empower parents and caregivers facing homelessness to secure and sustain housing and build strong foundations for their children’s futures.
The hundred-plus year-old agency has launched bold new strategies to reduce two-generation homelessness by dramatically increasing its prevention, housing, and supportive services for children, putting the organization on a fast-growth trajectory.
To support these strategies, the agency seeks a dynamic and driven Career and Education Navigator, to support the agency’s deepening services to more than 5,000 families.
The Career and Education Navigator will be the key content expert for the agency’s case management staff across all programs. The Navigator will develop partnerships and robust career and education pathways for clients and will serve as a key liaison to educational and career services and partners. The Career and Education Navigator will work with the agency’s program leadership to maintain existing programmatic partnerships and build new ones to increase access and enrollment in workforce, training and employment programs and services, as well as attainment of outcomes.
The Career and Education Navigator will develop career and education pathways through job growth and advancement, continuing education, and occupational training in support of case management, for adult/young adult family members participating in FamilyAid’s programs.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least five years of professional experience in career development, education or other equivalent combination of education and work experience. Strong commitment to helping low-income individuals find sustainable employment, build assets, and develop reward cases. High degree of cultural sensitivity and ability to build positive relationships with multilingual, multicultural participants. Knowledge of local communities, urban labor markets, career principles, and the Massachusetts workforce development system, including education and training providers. Familiarity working in a clinical setting. Background working with individuals facing, or at risk of homelessness is preferred.

Work Schedule and Conditions: Full-time, 40 hours/week, with flexibility to best meet client and program needs. Some evening availability required. Some onsite work at FamilyAid locations and main office will be required.
