The Training Unit at MRLI leads innovative training projects that provide top-tier instruction in advocacy skills and key areas of law through structured, practice-based learning. The unit’s goal is to foster a supportive, statewide learning community that reflects the diversity of the legal aid field, while building lasting professional connections among advocates. In addition to this work, the Training Unit manages a growing portfolio of internal and external training initiatives. To support this growth, MRLI is seeking a Coordinator to help manage, strengthen, and expand the unit’s training programs. The Training Program Coordinator position is offered full time and eligible for benefits.
Job Responsibilities:
The Training Program Coordinator will play a significant role in the management of the Legal Aid & Community Education Project. Working closely with the Director of Training and Training Attorney, the Coordinator will support the delivery of a high volume of asynchronous, live, and in-person trainings. Key responsibilities include:
- Become trained and certified in D2L Brightspace, the LACE Project’s Learning Management System (LMS), and maintain up-to-date knowledge of platform features and updates, and best practices.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for participant and member questions relating to D2L Brightspace platform and training logistics.
- Transfer, organize, and maintain training content and materials within the LMS.
- Create, update, and manage timelines for training programs and projects.
- Manage registration for training participants and member organizations.
- Coordinate and facilitate payments between training participants/member organizations and MLRI.
- Compile, maintain, and report on learner training, and platform data to support program evaluation and improvement.
- Coordinate all logistics for online and in-person trainings including identifying and securing space for in-person training components
- Support MLRI staff in carrying out trainings outside of the LACE Project’s LMS platform.
- Collaborate with the Director of Training and Training Attorney to implement and manage multiple concurrent training initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- B.A.
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Ability to interact with students, faculty and/or staff in a team environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity and comfortability with technology
- Creativity and a solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports
- Excellent writing and editorial skills
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience with SQL, Tableau, or PowerBI is a plus
Salary and Benefits:
- MLRI offers competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment. MLRI provides a very generous benefits package including health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 403(b) plan employer contribution of 5%, as well as vacation, holiday, winter recess and family leave.
- MLRI’s salaries are based on salary scale range and are commensurate with skills and years of relevant experience.The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000 per year.
